They are putting Checkers to sleep today. He won't stop urinating in the house and the vet says he can have surgery to fix it but it's going to cost a few grand. Mom says it's too much hassle to put him up for adoption "just to see him sit in a cage for years". Apparently letting him die is a lot better. Anyway, I'm gonna miss my first dog. He would be 13 this Thanksgiving. Bah. I need to eat and then go to work and try not to think about it. Happy belated Labor Day.
